Yamaha’s new iPhone dock is loaded with AirWired for a clear wireless audio experience
by Shayne Rana
Yamaha Japan is out with a new iPod dock that may seem rather plain looking but has some pretty nifty features. First off, the PDX-W61 dock is a Wireless Speaker for iPhone and iPod. As in, the docking port is wireless so you can have it anywhere you are and stream music to the speaker. Convenient isn’t it? We could consider this an upgrade to the TSX-W80 that was out in 2009. Secondly it’s equipped with “AirWired” PCM audio transmission technology that’s designed to offer optimum audio clarity and also has a bass reflex port just to make things a little more interesting. It weighs in at just 1.7kg which makes it quite portable. Other features include an AUX-in option, Previous Volume Memory and Level Monitoring, Lossless wireless audio transmission and it’ll be available in Dark Red, Black and Light Gray. Sometime later this year in Japan for a price of out 30,000 Yen which is about $358 (US).
