Yamaha introduces waterproof mini portable speaker for Japan with NFC and iOS compatibility

Yamaha has come up with a new mini portable speaker named “NX-P100” with Bluetooth connectivity. The compact speaker, with a size similar to that of a 500ml pet bottle, will be available in three different colors, smart black, casual green and refresh white. The rectangular shaped speaker is compliant with 2.1 + EDR Bluetooth and supports codec including SBC /AAC /aptX. It has a built in battery which can power the speaker for 8 hours on a single charge and comes equipped with “Music Enhance” function to enhance the base and mid-tone of the music played.


The speaker is designed especially for outdoor and active usage; it is IPX4 waterproof and the silicone protective ends along with the sturdy metal body add to the ruggedness of the structure. With the help of an internal mic, the speaker can be used as a hands-free. It also has iOS compatibility and supports Siri. The speaker can easily be paired with devices with NFC support and can also be connected with a laptop with the help of the USB. It measures 172 × 54 × 60mm (W × D × H) and weighs 500g. It will be released in Japan with a price tag of 16,800 Yen ($168 approx) starting early November.
