World’s cheapest ‘laptop’ costs $35
Guess who’s made the world’s most affordable ‘laptop’ (as they call it). Nope not China, it’s India. Yeah, the land of rivers and myths and history gives us one of the cheapest computers ever. It is basically a tablet with a touch interface and all but is termed as a laptop for whatever the reasons may be. Who cares? What matters is that it’s so awful affordable that anyone would dig their pockets and pick one of these on their way home. The main aim of bringing forth such devices is for the development of students and the means in which they are educated.
“We have reached a (developmental) stage that today, the motherboard, its chip, the processing, connectivity, all of them cumulatively cost around $35, including memory, display, everything,” said Kapil Sibal, India’s Human Resource Development Minister. The price is further expected to drop down to as less as $10!
