Most tablets these days are slippery as eels and for the butter-fingered few of us, handling these around usually requires utmost care and concern. Well, thankfully enough, we’ve just spotted a tough-as-a-rock tablet that simply doesn’t mind hitting the floor occasionally and takes all the impact with a smirk. Called the Z710, this new rugged tablet by Getac is been crowned as the world’s toughest Android (2.3) tablet and meets MIL-STD 810G / IP65 ratings with its dustproof, waterproof and shock-resistant capabilities. And that’s not all. The tablet packs Getac’s LumiBond technology and a Gorilla Glass, making it a glove-friendly device complete with 1GB of RAM, a OMAP 4430 1GHz dual-core processor, a 1MP front camera and a 5MP on the back, Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi connectivity and a 3G version for those who prefer flicking through internet pages quicker. Priced at a somewhat steep $1499 for the WiFi-only version and $1799 for the 3G version, this 7-inch display tablet makes for a good tool on outdoor trips.
