Volvo develops external airbags to save pedestrians from fatal accidents
Volvo’s have been considered as some of the safest cars of our time. The Swedish car manufacturer spends a considerable amount of time making sure its vehicles are safe and have been known to develop safety technologies that have kept people alive in near-fatal accidents. Now, Volvo has unveiled its latest in car safety, one that protects pedestrians during accidents. An airbag that pops out of the car’s hood, this Pedestrian Detection system keeps pedestrians from hitting car windshields in times of accidents that can prove fatal. The world’s first external airbags ever developed, these will feature on the new five-door V40 car.
