Video: Ichiban Shibori Frozen Draft Beer Foam keeps beer cool

by Gareth Mankoo

As the summers advance in full fury, we need to make sure the beer is cool and ready to be served chilled. That’s where Japanese brewer Kirin saves the day by introducing Ichiban Shibori Frozen Draft Beer Foam. This soft-serve splotch of frozen, let’s say, material, keeps the beer under it cool. The machine that causes it to be made does so by frothing a mixture of beer and air and freezing it to 23 degrees F. Then the product is ejected like it was from an ice-cream machine. Video after the jump.

On the downside, you may have to work your way through the insulated beer, nose-first. It should be available in Japan by next month.
