USB Slingshot by mbed makes playing Angry Birds cooler!
by Gavril MankooRovio’s Angry Birds franchise has had the world captivated since quite a while now. Adding fuel to the fire, Simon Ford, director of tools for mbed parent company ARM came up with this splendid concept that’s bound to have you hooked to the game for longer hours than usual. Essentially a slingshot controller for the Angry Birds game that connects via USB, this one uses an mbed NXP LPC11U24 Microcontroller and a bunch of more technology, all included in a very unfussy looking slingshot. Using an accelerometer to measure its tilt and “rubber stretch sensor” that senses how hard you pull, the movements are then mapped to the mouse controls, enabling you to toss those pissed off birds at them squealing green piggies all day long!
