USB 3.0s SSDs touch 160 GB/s

Active Media has brought forth its Aviator 312 line of USB 2.0 external MLC SSDs. The devices are available at capacities ranging from 16GB to 64GB. Thanks to the USB 3.0 blessings, the devices can transfer data at astronomically high transfer rates, touching up to 240 MB/s (read) and 160 GB/s (write!). All of this at just the 40% of bandwidth that the devices use, of the overall bandwidth provided by USB 3.0. They measure just 3 inches in length and are only 0.2 inches thick. These Aviators will be the first to sport a micro-USB 3.0 connector.

The Active Media Aviator 312 line USB 3.0 devices are priced at $209 for 64 GB, $119 for 32 GB and $89 for 16 GB.
