Toshiba Regza Apps turns your Android phone into a remote control

by Dhiram Shah

Toshiba Japan has announced the ‘REGZA Apps Connect’ for Android phones. The application will allow users with an Android phone to control their Regza LCD TV’s and BD players. The free application has five different screens which adapt to the device that you are connected. The buttons trigger tacky voice responses for eg – pressing the stop button will sound a message in Japanese saying ‘I will take a break and have some coffee’ etc. There are more than 300 words in a female voice programmed to playback with an eerie randomness. Similar branded and universal applications are available on the Android marketplace and the App store. The Regza Apps connect will be currently limited to Japanese models only.
