Tom Tom launches new range of GPS watches free from Nike+ Branding

If you are planning to regain your fitness this summer then Tom Tom’s GPS powered smartwatch is just the tool you are looking for. A myriad of functions are embedded into the watch to keep you motivated and track your progress. The Dutch company yesterday unveiled a new range to GPS watches specially meant for swimmers, runners and cyclists, but this time without the Nike+ insignia on it. The Tom Tom Runner and the Multi Sport both are pretty slim for a GPS watch, it boasts of a large display and full-screen graphical training tools. The Tom Tom Runner features an indoor tracker to monitor the user’s pace on a treadmill, a built-in GPS, multi-platform sync compatibility, Bluetooth connectivity and a heart-rate monitor.

It is waterproof up to 50m, boasts 10 hours of battery life (GPS Mode) and its display is housed in scratch and impact-resistant glass. It is mountable on a bike to track the route and also has a motion sensor to record lap times, strokes and speed while swimming. But for a GPS watch, it still does not have a Maps built into it. It only records the mapping data rather than showing the route. The prices are still to be announced.
