Thermometer sends data using NFC
by Dhiram ShahWhile we are still going gaga over the possibilities Google Wallet and NFC has in store for us, Japan has been using it since almost a decade now. There are multiple technologies offering NFC based payment and data solutions in Japan and one of them is Felica which is backed by Sony. Terumo a Japanese company has developed a thermometer for women which measures the body temperature and the basal temperature which helps determine the fertility awareness. The readings are stored in the thermometer which connects wirelessly to a computer via a Felica reader or a compatible phone. Using a free software the user can compare the temperature readings and determine patterns.
The measures 130.4 × 29 × 19.5mm, comes in, you guessed it pink color and will go on sale in Japan for 5280 Yen ($ 68).
