Thermometer sends data using NFC
While we are still going gaga over the possibilities Google Wallet and NFC has in store for us, Japan has been using it since almost a decade now. There are multiple technologies offering NFC based payment and data solutions in Japan and one of them is Felica which is backed by Sony. Terumo a Japanese company has developed a thermometer for women which measures the body temperature and the basal temperature which helps determine the fertility awareness. The readings are stored in the thermometer which connects wirelessly to a computer via a Felica reader or a compatible phone. Using a free software the user can compare the temperature readings and determine patterns.
The measures 130.4 × 29 × 19.5mm, comes in, you guessed it pink color and will go on sale in Japan for 5280 Yen ($ 68).
