The Samsung Mondi – A Mobile Internet Device

by Dhiram Shah

There’s a little more spice added to the line of Samsung’s standalone Internet handheld devices. It goes by the name, Mondi and has just about everything that an average Samsung smart phone could have, besides, a microphone. This doesn’t mean that the sleek 4.3 inch screen device blocks out communication completely; it supports MMS services. Besides this, it has a modest 4 GB of storage space and runs on the Windows Mobile 6.1 platform. Other features that tempt me to believe that the Mondi was designed to be a smartphone include a 3 megapixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth and HDMI out! Coming to the main functionality of the device, it uses the TouchWiz interface and functions as a WiMax and WiFi.

The Samsung Mondi cannot be tagged as the best MID around till it reaches out into the public, but what we can expect from it is good WiMax service and a heft price tag. I mean, it’s made an appearance at CTIA for crying out loud!
