The file sharing music downloading Italian Minister snubs French prohibition
by Gavril Mankoo
Italian Interior Minister Roberto Maroni, a musician in a band, thinks that downloading isn’t so bad after-all, snubbing the French effort to disconnect file-sharers from the Internet. Openly criticizing the French for their steps to prohibit file-sharing, Maroni stated that heavy penalties such as these do not actually work. To overcome this, he came up with the idea of a massive website that will allow users to legally download music for free, and to make up for the costs, use advertisements and sponsors.
The minister, a 51 District band member, candidly claimed that he himself was a pirate and downloaded music of the Internet. Maybe his idea of the website could actually work, if pieced together properly. It could help spread music across the globe too!
