Tetra T-Pad, the $2,600 rugged smartphone
Although Logic Instrument got FCC approval for their Tetra T-Pad rugged smartphone almost 2 years ago, little has been known about it since then. It features a Drop shock- resistant design and uses Intel Xscale 400MHz PXA 263 processor. Specs include Windows CE.NET 4.2, 4.0″ Transmissive TFT VGA, (480 x 640) Outdoor Readable Touchscreen Display, 16-Bit Colour Display, 16 Key Alphanumeric Keyboard, Up to 5 hours of battery life, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, Ethernet, and options for USB and modem. Apparently the phone meets met U.S. military standards that require 25 tests involving the harshest conditions. Weighing just less than 1.3 pounds, the T-Pad is dustproof, waterproof, and can withstand shock, vibration, and subzero temperatures. The Tetra T-Pad costs $2,600.
