Steve Jobs to hand out free iPhones to employees

When we told you about Steve’s sentimental side, we did mention the free iPhone offer, but given the hype around the issue it is necessary to highlight the figures. Apparently there are 17,787 full time plus another 2,399 part time workers in Apple so in greens it works out to $12,091,414 retail for the 8GB iPhone. The lucky people will get their hands on the phone by the end of July, but there is no word on who pays for the 2-year service costs.
