Startup Kuvee creates a bottle that retains the freshness of wine
by Gareth Mankoo
A Boston-based company by the name of Kuvee has said in a statement that the wine industry has been slow to think beyond a glass bottle and cork. So, they’ve come up with an idea of their own and it seems to be rather promising. The company believes that they have a way out to ensure that wine when stored in their specially made bottles will taste as fresh as it did on the day that it was opened. The bottle will have an intricate valve system, which according to CEO Vijay Manwani “prevents oxygen from touching the wine, so wine stays fresh for up to 30 days after opening.” This opens up the possibility for wine-collectors to open multiple bottles of wine and ensure that the freshness of each wine is retained.
The company has already curated four California wines, which allows customers to sample the various wines and appreciate the benefits of the specially made bottles. The price of the wines range from $15 to $50 per bottle.
