Sony to launch PSP with hard drive next year ?
Unlikely though it might seem, Sony will launch a new version of the PSP during the summer of 2006…at least that’s the prediction of investment firm Piper Jaffray. The company, which provides a wide range of services including research analysis, makes the crystal ball prediction in its forecasts through to 2008 and states that: “Microsoft is expected to launch its X-Box 306 platform in the U.S. on November 22, 2005. We project that Sony and Nintendo will launch their next-gen systems in late-2006 (in U.S.). We also expect Sony to launch the next generation of its PSP (including an audio/video hard-drive) in mid-2006.”
The idea that Sony would make such a move so soon into the PSP’s life-cycle is quite astonishing, and we’d certainly take the comments with a pinch of salt so large that a lake full of water would be needed to quench your thirst…but then again, you never know.
