Sony PS3 to go 3D in summer with update, get those glasses ready viewers

by Shayne Rana

Sony has apparently promised that the new 3D image processing firmware update for their PS3 will hit consoles this summer. Sony’s 3D BRAVIA TVs that were showcased at CES 2010 will also be making it out at the same time so naturally it’s going to be a match made in 3D heaven. Gamers will of course require active shutter glasses for viewing 3D. John Koller, the director of hardware marketing for SCEA had also mentioned that 3D games would be out a little later but in the meantime at least video viewing will be possible as separate updates will be available for the Blu-Ray player. It’s going to be a fun summer.
