The new Sony K850 is for those folks who like to take plenty of pictures with their camera phones. This 5-megapixel Cyber-shot phone is like a digital camera packed into a slim mobile phone. Auto focus and Xenon flash are the two most important tools of this digiphone but it’s the BestPic, Photo fix and PictBridge features that make it cool. The K850 is essentially a Tri-Band HSDPA phone for high-speed picture and video blogging. The camera menu is pretty it intuitive to scroll between functions like shoot mode and picture size. At the press of a button the lens cover retracts automatically. A new mode selector lets you switch promptly between camera, video and picture viewing modes. The dual-purpose keyboard prompts shortcuts when in the camera mode. And to give you a unique Sony Ericsson media experience; the new media browser will suffice.

The K850 Cyber-shot phone carries out an intelligent search to see photos by the month they were taken, view thumbnail images or scroll through in full-picture mode. To view those pretty pictures the 2.2″ crystal bright display is apt. The phone is also a Quad-Band GPRS/EDGE phone with a color choice of either Velvet Blue or Luminous Green. It will hit the shelves in the fourth quarter of 2007.
