Social networking websites meet London officials, action plan against rioters expected
by Gavril MankooAfter the recent riots in London, the world realized just how much of a catalyst social networking sites can be when it comes to a bunch of angry teenagers waiting to pour out into city streets and loot every nook and cranny of a place they once lovingly called home. Officials have set up a meeting with BlackBerry makers RIM, giving that the BlackBerry Messenger service played a huge role in the riots, and Twitter officials will meet the UK Home Secretary on Thursday. Facebook will also be attending this meet, and we aren’t really sure of the outcome yet, though we pretty much expect social networking sites to up the level of moderation and administration done. In short, social networking sites are bound to spy on users more than ever!
