Sneaky mat keeps pets away from furniture
Do your pets sneak in a snooze on the couch when you’re not looking? My dog Invy just loves to lounge on my sofa all day. The next best thing he does on the couch, is this whole routine of grooming and scratching and fluffing. All this leaves behind a humongous amount of hair for me to vacuum. No matter how hard I try but all my yelling falls on deaf ears! A try at the Sofa Guard might help me, but I’m a bit skeptical of letting the high decibel sound emitted, damaging his sensitive ears. Well figure this one yourselves; The Sofa Guard is a mat that you put on your furniture to keep your pets from jumping onto them and making themselves comfy. Switch on the device, and as soon as your pet jumps onto the mat, which is fitted with sensors, an audible 105-decibel alarm will go off – as a ‘warning’ (this the bit I’m worried about). The alarm will stop as soon as your pet has left the mat. “Your pet will soon learn that upholstered furniture is out of bounds.” is what the manufacturers have to say. I’m hunting for a dog trainer, do you know any!
It works with a 9V battery (available separately) for up to 6 months. The cover is made from easy-care, wipe-clean black nylon fabric. Measures 138 x 29 x 3.5 cm (4ft6″ x 11 1/2″ x 1 1/2″) (L x W x H). Weighs approximately 330g (0.7 lbs). It rolls up for space-saving storage, and comes with a Three year Pro-Idee guarantee. Costs $37.
