Seagate paves the way for 60TB drives in the future
by Gareth MankooSeagate have made a glorious declaration that has something to do about them becoming the first hard drive manufacturer to achieve a storage density of 1TB per square inch. This means that over the next decade we will be looking at drives that support up to 60TB of data on them. I remember ten years ago when a gigabyte of space in its 100s would ring a bell. We are beyond that now.
Seagate managed to surpass the barriers of limitation by implementing Heat-assisted Magnetic Recording technology. We’re looking forward heartily.
