Samsung’s 22-inch transparent LCD finally steps into production, release date + pricing still unknownby ruchi
Samsung really knows its game when it comes to being a forerunner in dishing out pioneering technologies. It now has officially announced mass production of its much-awaited transparent LCD panels. With 22-inch diagonal, the displays will have a resolution of 1680 x 1050 pixels, contrast ratio of 500:1, HDMI and USB support. This will come in both black-and-white and color variations with a transparency rate of over 20 percent and 15 percent respectively. This tells us that the ambient light can be used for the backlighting needs and thus cutting back power consumption up to 90% as compared to the regular LCDs. We don’t know the exact numbers of pricing yet, but a hefty price tag could fit the bill here.
