Roll away on the Solowheel, the next-gen Segway
It’s the smaller, fuss-free, stripped-down version of the Segway. Solowheel, as the name suggest is nothing but a solo wheel means of transportation, geared for the mobile urbanite. The “self-balancing electric unicycle” operates through the gyroscopic technology using 1000-watt rechargeable lithium-ion battery powers. On a full charge (which takes about 45 minutes), the Solowheel can run for two hours. Weighing only 20 pounds and consisting of nothing but a wheel with fold-up foot platforms on either side, it’s extremely space-efficient and can easily be thrown into your back-pack after use.
Watch how unbelievably easy it looks – looks being the imperative word. The Solowheel has hit the retail market this month and will sell for $1,500. When you’re not balancing on the Solowheel, it makes for great weights too, no?
