Rescue robot fights fire with tech
by Dhiram Shah
The Tokyo Fire department has a high-tech assistant to help them, it not only saves innocent lives but also keeps fire fighting personnel out of harms way. The robot moves using a crawling system so it can effortlessly maneuver on rubble and other obstacles. It has a camera and various sensors which measure the level of carbon dioxide and combustible gases in the air. It has two arms which can be controlled to clear obstacles and can also be fitted with water or foam dispensers. As seen in the next image it has a enclosure where fire fighters can load up patients and transport them out safely.
