Panasonic unveils tablet prototype with integrated WiGig technology
by ruchiPanasonic has developed a new tablet prototype which makes use of WiGig, a multi-gigabit speed wireless communications technology. Owing to this, the tablet can wirelessly transmit data like photos or videos to displays mounted in the passenger seats of a car. However the car needs to be nearby and the transmission range is just about 1-3 meters as against around 10 meters for Bluetooth.
The video here shows the tablet in action where it actually transmits a full DVD video is just 60 seconds. Also there is news that Panasonic is presently WiGig SD cards that are supposed to be commercialized in summer next year. Moreso WiGig-compatible phones too seem to be on their way too.
