‘Open Ways’ App helps substitute room keys with iPhone
by Gareth Mankoo
Hotel keys are pretty much an extra responsibility to take care of. Because of the liability, InterContinental Hotels Group will come about with a cool new means of granting access to guests into their rooms. They will be running test on a new technology that will enable users to enter their rooms with the help of their iPhones as against the usual keys. The application is called ‘Open Ways’ and it will be tested by the hotel chain in June.
The idea is pretty novel idea. There is word that besides the iPhone the application will also work on BlackBerrys and Android platforms.
