Olympus Tough TG-310 handles the torture chamber effectively

by ruchi

We all have see various forms of ‘all’-proof cameras before, but Olympus Tough TG-310 scored a new definition of ultra-rugged compact digital cameras. Being waterproof (upto 10 feet), shockproof (upto 5 feet) and freezeproof (upto 14 degrees Fahrenheit), this camera can pretty much withstand anything that stems from human error (or frustration?). At one of their events, the company held demonstration of the product where you can actually pass the camera through a ‘torture chamber’ consisting of rocks, jerks and water ofcourse, and see the camera come out alive as an injured soldier with no compromise on its chassis or functions. Check the video after the jump for a closer look at this interesting demo

One of the headline specs of the camera includes 3D Photo Mode which clicks two shots of a scene from two different angles to create still photos delivering the illusion of 3D. Others include 720p HD video recording, a 14 megapixel sensor, 3.6x wide-angle optical zoom lenses, dual image stabilization, Eye-Fi Card Compatibility, In-Camera Panorama function and many more. It will hit the stores on February 18th for a price tag of US$199.99.
