Nuance ties up with automobile companies to pack future cars with voice-recognition technologies

by Gavril Mankoo

Apple’s new handsfree voice recognition software Siri pretty much took the world by storm recently. Now, automobile manufacturers are looking to have similar technologies packed into cars, making the driving experience a lot more interactive by having your car literally talk to you! Speech-recognition Company Nuance announced at the Nuance Automotive Forum in Detroit this week that an unnamed auto manufacturer will soon begin using these technologies in cars. So, in the near future, you could probably ask your car to make dinner reservations! The technology in automobiles is expected to surface by the following year, and we’ve still got to look out for the manufacturers who’re planning to pack voice-recognition in their cars.
