New Amazon Appstore to launch Android Angry Birds Rio

by Shalu Pillai

When Rovio announced that the place to grab the Angry Birds Rio first would be on the Amazon Appstore, it let the cat out of the bag with the Appstore’s launch plans. Well, now its time to celebrate as a brand spanking new Angry Birds adventure is here! The Amazon Appstore will be offering the Android version (paid, ad-free) of the game before the Android Market gets it – although Rovio has since confirmed via Twitter that iPhone and iPad users will get the film-franchise based game on the same day (March 22). The Amazon platform will also host ad-free Android versions of the two existing Angry Birds titles (the original and Seasons) as well.

The Angry Birds Rio will bring 60 exciting new levels to begin with and will feature birds from the Fox blockbuster animated movie, while a webOS version for Rio is also in the pipeline. Don’t miss the trailer of the raging birds.
