Netbooks of the future to soon serve as tablets as well

by Gareth Mankoo

If you look at physical utility, you can pretty much guess that the innumerable keyboard docks available with tablets can make them be used as netbooks. However, the fusion between the two kinds of gizmos is to be greater in the coming years. Intel are churning out Atom chips that will fit 10-inch netbooks perfectly. Another report adds that this can also be used on a touch-based display (a tablet) that can be gained by folding the keyboard under or probably slide the keyboard in! Another interesting development is that Intel Atom Cedar Trail M 32nm chips will generate a lot lesser heat, requiring a fanless design. Thus, even more suggestive of more portable devices.

To nail the coffin of doubts, it’s public knowledge that Intel Atom N2600 and Atom N2800 chips will also support WiDi (wireless display) and quicker booting.
