Nakamichi Kimono LCD TV
Nakamichi the Bang and Olufsen of the East presented its Kimono LCD TV at the IFA fair. The design is inspired by the refined elegance of kimonos to create a frame with an assymetrical fold and highlighted by a set of black brushed metal buttons. The television also adopts the sculptural aspects of kimonos to create a visual where the television appears to be spinning on a sharp pivot above the black marble base. Shifting to the specs now it is full HDTV compatible (720p, 1080i, 1080p) and has Dual Tuner (analog and DVB-T). It has a viewing angle of 178 degrees, offers 5.1 Channel Amplifier Output when connected to external speakers, and comes with a built in DVD player and FM tuner. The Kimono includes USB 2.0 connectivity, 6 in 1 card reader, SRS TruSurround for realisitic sound and HDMI inputs.
The Nakamichi Kimono will be available in 42″ and 47″, pricing and availability is not known but expect to pay a heavy premium.
