Microsoft and HP slate PC tablet shown off at CES 2010. Where’s Apple?
by Shayne Rana
The tablets are taking over and I don’t mean the ones the doctor dishes out. While we’re eagerly waiting for the ‘iSlate’ Apple tablet or whatever they intend to call it, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer has just made his CES 2010 opening keynote speech and announced HP’s slate PC. This little tablet PC is designed to be ‘more powerful than a phone and almost as powerful as a PC’, at least according to Mr. Ballmer. As of now the details of this device are quite sketchy. All we know is that it’s running on a Windows 7 OS which, if the video is an indication of, will support multi-touch. Apple is still choosing to remain incognito at this point it seems, perhaps we can expect some sort of grand opening styled unveiling.
