Madam Tussauds, London finally finds the Force, readies Star Wars Experience this May
by Shayne RanaThere are times when one simply heaves a sigh of relief, raises his/her hands into the air and shouts – Finally! – and the world suddenly makes sense. Ok so that was a little exaggerated by when I heard that Madame Tussauds, London was opening a “Star Wars experience,” well the moment seemed apt to do just what I said.
Working with Disney and Lucasfilms, the multimillion-dollar experience based on one of Si-Fi’s most beloved sagas should be up and running in May. The “experience” will showcase a total of 16 heroes and heroes and villains from the first six episodes.
Check out the video below depicting at least 20 sculptors, artists, and set designers creating Jedi Master Yoda. Stephen Mansfield, a principal sculptor at Madame Tussauds explains in the video – We are making great effort to make sure that fans of the films will be happy and enjoy the experience when it opens.
Other sets include a recreation of the Cantina Bar with Han Solo and Chewbacca in the Millennium Falcon. As long as Jar Jar Binks doesn’t make an appearance I have no doubt this will be as epic an experience as the movies themselves, and with Episode VIII on the way, the timing is just perfect.
