Lamborghini launches Antares a luxury Android smartphone
If you’re into luxury cars then luxury phones are pretty much on the cards as well. But when you have the option of a smartphone decked out in plush metals and materials to give it that exclusive feel just like the cars. However, even though you’ll very clearly see the resemblance of the famous raging bull emblem, the limited edition Lamborghini Antares smartphone has little to actually do with the cars. The Antares is made by the company’s luxury accessories lifestyle division Tonino Lamborghini and not Automobili Lamborghini, the guys who make the super cool cars.
Here Antares is no slouch in the specifications department and sports a 4 inch touchscreen display with a 13MP (LED flash) camera at the rear and a 5MP shooter up front. It runs on a 1.5GHz quad-core processor and features 32GB of internal storage with a micro SD card slot for boosting the capacity. A Yamaha amp is on board to provide for high-end audio quality via the headphones or the dual speakers. Corning Gorilla Glass should make sure that the handset always looks pristine even after a little wear and tear. All if this is packed into a sleek frame that’s just 0.53-inches in depth. The sad part is that this $4000 (£2,500) smartphone is shipping with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean when we’re already at the stage of 4.4 Kit Kat. The Leather portions of the handset are add to the color of the over svelte looking smartphone and you can choose the color based on your fancy. BlackBerry’s P’9982 Porsche Design special edition handset based on their Z10 smartphone that was also recently announced just got some serious competition.
