Kindle gets optimized for Web

by Gareth Mankoo

Kindle e-books will now be made available for browser use. This means that Amazon are pumping in the right amount of fuel to drive their e-book market ahead. This new method of reading will not require any application to be installed or no special application download. This will make the Kindle seem extra special to bookstores, authors, retailers and other online users since they too can offer e-books on their Web space. This may well be Amazon’s answer to Google’s e-bookstore feature.

Currently, a similar system such as this is in action but all it does is display the index and the first chapter of the book. The new Kindle for the Web is optimized to serve more, better.
