Is a Pepsi smartphone arriving soon?
by Gareth Mankoo
Everyone’s making smartphones these days. From armed forces to automobile companies, everyone wants a slice of the cellphone market pie. PepsiCo seems to be planning a smartphone rollout in China and this news already has everyone in a flurry. The said phone is expected to arrive with a MediaTek MT6592 chipset, up to 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB storage that can be expanded, a 13-megapixel shooter at the rear and a 5-megapixel one in the front, a beautiful 5.5-inch 1080p full HD display screen and a 3000 mAh battery. The phone will be called the Pepsi P1 phone. This nomenclature is a clear indicative that there is a series to follow this flagship.
The phone will arrive with Android 5.1 Lollipop. We do not know when the phone is going to hit shores overseas or when we can expect it to come Westside but what we do know is that when it appears on shelves in China it will cost $205. We’re now waiting for the company’s red counterpart to show up with something competitive too.
