India’s Aakash Tablet may have a sequel soon

by Gareth Mankoo

The very affordable education-based Aakash tablet that made headlines months ago is all set to roll out in a new avatar: the Aakash 2. What makes this the whole deal really cool is the fact that it will receive a performance update but not a Rupee more on costs. And all this from the tablet that was already considered the worlds cheapest, can be quite a deal. By better specifications you can expect a 700MHz Cortex A8 processor, a three-hour battery, and a capacitive touch display.

The tablets may now also make it to desks of school children. Earlier it was made only for higher education purposes.
