After launching the world’s thinnest tablet, Apple has added yet another feather to its cap with its newest iMac with a Retina 5K display, which means an eye watering resolution of 5180*2280 (218 ppi). The new iMac is 27 inches in size, just 5mm thick at the edges, has a backlight system which makes the pictures look brighter than ever, a better contrast ratio for blacker blacks and the viewing angles are much wider this time. The resolution quality has been just doubled this time with the previous iMac being 2560*1440(109) ppi. Another improvisation they have done with iMac this time is the battery. In comparison to the previous iMac the 5K iMac consumes about 30 percent less battery. You will also see a startling improvement in graphics as in iMac 5K has they have used AMDRadeon R9 M290X GPU which is used in high end gaming machines. The GPU is 45 % faster than its previous generation iMac.

With a 5K display, this machine can be a boon for photographers who edit videos and pictures every day. The basic 5K iMac will start at $2500 for 3.5 GHz Core i5 version, of course the price will go up with the storage space you choose and other configuration factors.
