HP iPrint is a free photo printing application for the iPhone

In an effort to drive more photo printing, Hewlett-Packard will offer a free printing application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The iPrint Photo application allows pictures stored on an iPhone to be printed using HP’s inkjet printers attached to a Wi-Fi network. Users can launch the application on an iPhone; select a photo by touching it, after which a print command is sent to the inkjet printer over a Wi-Fi network. The software also runs on the iPod Touch device. Currently, the software enables only 4-by-6-inch (10-by-15-centimeter) photo prints and resizes images accordingly. The application is available for download from the App Store free. Furthermore, the company will launch a “Make Your Mark” contest for attendees at International CES.

To enter, show attendees must download the software to their iPhone or iPod Touch and visit HP’s iPrint Gallery in the Grand Lobby/Central Concourse of the Las Vegas Convention Center. A winner will be selected at random from scanned exhibitor badges. The grand prize is $1,000 and an HP Photosmart C6380 all in one.
