Hitachi comes out with Minority Report-esque interface
The flick Minority Report pretty much got everyone thinking about the awesomeness of the touch sensitive and hover sensitive displays that were to arise in the future. The same was reflected with the astonishingly fresh ideas of graphical representations in movies like Avatar. Hitachi has made this all a little more tangible, literally. Information on any kind of TV or projector can be controlled by moving or waving your hand before the display. All they have now is a working prototype but the immense field of possibilities that arise from this setting is quite pleasing.
One of the best applications shown in the video here is the healthcare boon that an interface like this can do. It can be used to help doctor understand sonographies and scans better.
