The highly-connected Wezzoo Oombrella ensures it’s never forgotten

by Gareth Mankoo

Here’s an umbrella that can have an entire litany sung to its praises and functions. While most umbrellas only have one function, the Wezzoo Oombrella packs a punch that’s more impressive than that obnoxious name. It is fitted with hyper-local weather data recognition and a tracking tool that can offer you prompts such as ‘take me with you! It will rain in 15 minutes.’ We admit that this is creepy. However, this is possible thanks to sensors that are present in the handle, which measure pressure, humidity, temperature and even light. Made on Kevlar ribs (no kidding), which makes it wind-resistant and saves you from the awkwardness of dealing with an upturned umbrella. You can even attach a GoPro camera to the top of this one and have all your captured content shared with the Wezzoo community. The umbrella connects with your phone and updates you via a buzzer and light when conditions are extremely damp.

The project is up for funding at Kickstarter and can be pre-ordered for 59 Euros (or $66).
