Hello Kitty Kawaii Paradise is Sickly Sweet Anime Hell
by iona
A white cat with a scarily high-pitched voice, nestling in a blindingly bright, candy colored world. It can be no other than Japan’s much-loved and tooth-achingly sweet Hello Kitty and her new theme park, Kawaii Paradise. Translated to ‘Cute Paradise’, Hello Kitty’s world is the latest addition to Tokyo’s up-and-coming redeveloped Venus Fort shopping complex in Odaiba, near Haneda airport, which has just opened a new international terminal. If you want to damage your neck then you should visit the theater, which projects animated Hello Kitty pictures in Japanese, Chinese and English onto its domed ceiling. If you want to make yourself sick, head to the Hello Kitty café for some super cute kitty pancakes.
Kitty Paradise has a floor space of 10,000 square feet (890 square metres), housing all sorts of Kitty kitsch. Developers are expecting around 700,000 visitors this first year, alone.
