Google’s doing something new again, this time they’re testing voice calling in Gmail

by Shayne Rana

After the failed Google Wave, which is possibly the only real failure the company has ever had in its history, a few ‘renovations were made to Gmail. And it seems more such additions are on the way. Gmail has already become more than just a simple email account. The latest news is that Google is going to add a new web based service to Gmail’s Google Chat section. You’ll be able to make and receive calls from the Google Chat interface itself. This, it would seem is a Web-based VOIP client. Could this be a refurbished version or an upgrade to Google Voice or something new altogether. We’ll just have to wait and see.
