Gingerbread upgrade reaching Samsung’s Galaxy line
by Gareth MankooNot to be left too far behind in the race for the shiniest bit of silverware that smartphones are donning these days, is turning into a struggle of sorts. Samsung are making a huge move in changing the face of the Galaxy phone firmware. The Galaxy S we saw with the Android Gingerbread (2.3) platform was pretty in its own sense but the lesser ones, including the Galaxy Gio, Ace, Fit, Mini and even the Galaxy S and the Galaxy Tab will see a new upgrade coming in. Talking Asia, we have the Samsung Galaxy S, K, U and A that enjoy a similar upgrade. The upgrade will have these devices consuming lesser resources to run Android and will have a fresh interface as well.
The upgrades will be released in UK and Nordic nations by mid-May, followed by the rest of the world. The updates will be available via Kies.
