Giant Robot and his minions land up in Argentina

by Gavril Mankoo

The streets of Beunos Aires would be bustling but peaceful on any given day. However, if we are to believe what we see in this clip from Fernando Livshitz of Black Sheep Films, then we could well imagine what unfolded. A number of tin windup toys are seen making their way aimlessly across the capital city. What’s beautiful is how people accept these robots and accommodate them to share their habitat. It’s so beautiful to see a rendition of man and machine sharing an ecosystem. Now, we wait for something more on the lines of interbreeding and ugly mecha-human babies.

Fernando Livschitz’s Black Sheep Films is well known for the former’s short films that introduce absurdity in many levels. The music for this particular clip is catered by Canned Heat circa 1972.
