Game time with Sega at its newest gaming console, A Public Urinal
From living rooms to men’s public restrooms, Sega, the house of many great games and consoles, seems to have found a new market that Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo haven’t dared to touch! Dubbed ‘Toirettsu’ which is kind of a play on ‘Toy’ and ‘Let’s’, the enhanced urinals feature a sensor target that’s able to detect when it’s being used, and the strength of the stream. This is then translated into mini games displayed on an eye-level LCD display, like putting out fires (of course!) or battling other players by shooting milk out of your character’s nose (double of course!). The video below shows working models exhibited at trade shows though there’s been no official word on when you might see one appearing at your local loo. They bring added value as they provide restaurants and the likes with a place to sell advertising.
As a female blogger, I can’t help chuckle at the efforts made to encourage guys to actually use the urinals instead of the floor, but if this is what it takes for cleaner, hygienic public toilets, way to go Sega!
