Firefox CEO blurts out mobile browser launch

IE has been there forever, Opera has somewhat of a strong hold in almost all new gadgets today, so isn’t there a Firefox mobile version? Strangely, no, it may have been the most popular PC browser in recent times but nothing has been done on the mobile front. IE has gained some dominance via its integration into the Windows Mobile system, and Opera as of yet cannot support flash on its mobile browsers. However, if you were to read an interview by the CEO John Lilly it will dawn on you that the mobile version is coming sooner than the previous release time of 2010.

Here’s what he said when asked what he was doing in the mobile arena.
“We want to make sure that the Web on mobile is more like the Web than what the mobile industry offers today, which is closed, separate networks and not a very good information-getting experience for the user. The first thing is to bring Firefox to mobile devices. We’re working on that, and we’ll see some alphas in a few weeks.”
