Firefox OS-based tablet to be 10.1-inch device with quad-core A7 CPU

It’s been so long that Mozilla’s famed Firefox OS-based tablet is a-coming. We had a few glimpses that were not as convincing as the specifications we received now. The information could be taken seriously given that it came from Mozilla’s Asa Dotier’s blog. The first tablet running the operating system is slated to arrive with an A31 quad-core 1GHz Cortex A7 processor. With this, we an expect PowerVR SGX544MP2 graphics, a 10.1-inch IPS display screen (with resolutions of up to 1280×800), 5-megapixel camera on the rear, 2-megapixel camera up front, Wi-Fi connectivity and 2GB RAM. All of this could mean that we’re looking at quite a performer. We hope that the OS itself doesn’t inspire such heavy resources needed to be spent, though.

There is no word on the price or availability date of the famed Firefox OS-based tablet. We could look at it making its first appearance at Barcelona’s Mobile World Congress. Also, there has been enough word about it launching in emerging markets.
