Ferrari on Tuesday unveiled its new flagship hyper-car at the Geneva International Motor show named ‘LaFerrari’, Italian for ‘The ultimate Ferrari- maximum expression.’ Since the wraps were taken off, it has created quite a buzz amongst the Ferrari loyalist and fans all over the world. During the unveiling, Ferrari stand at the show erupted into frenzied cheers and why won’t it? The hyper-car codenamed ‘F150’ will replace the legendary Enzo. The limited edition ultimate machine will be the first hybrid Ferrari and promise to be the fastest ever Ferrari on road till date. Only 499 will be ever made. Ferrari claims, LaFerrari’s technology and engineering are unparalleled, which was acquired from its experience in Formula 1. Under its hood, it brags of a 6.2L V12 that punches out a mind-blowing 800 horsepower coupled with a 120 Kw electric motor to provide torque at lower rev range. The hybrid technology used, known as HY-KERS, claims to have maximum performance and lower emissions. It has a 7 speed DCT and generates a neck breaking torque of 900Nm. With its chiselled nose and a slick body it looks absolutely mouth-watering.

Some amazing stats: 0 to 60 mph below 3 seconds, 124 mph under 7 sec, and a top speed of 217 mph closely resembling McLaren P1 which was also launched at the Geneva Motor Show. All the 3 major supercar makers Lamborghini, McLaren and Ferrari have come up with their new generation hyper-cars, all with a price tag above a million dollars, battling it hard at the event and through their official twitter accounts. An already sold-out Lamborghini Venono has definitely made a head-start. The name ‘LaFerrari’ has gone terribly wrong for Ferrari drawing a lot of flak and criticism.
